It all started when…
Linda grew up in northern Illinois on a tree farm with eight siblings. Her father was an architect and her mother an interior architect, turned Hallmark illustrator. The focus was on creativity and a firm foundation in the sciences and arts. Her first job was an illustrator was drawing foundation plans for buildings. She admits she is a self taught illustrator, but her foundations in graphic design, from University of Illinois- Champaign -Urbana, only enhanced her abilty to think conceptual and hone her illustration designs. "You can never stop developing and learning", is a moto she lives by. This philosophy has allowed her to grow and enhance her styles over the years. She began her career as an editorial illustrator in 1987 moving to NYC.Editorial illustration then evolved into more corporate based illustration. She created collateral material for major corporations, such as Microsoft, Asgrow, Pepsi, and Dow Jones, to name a few. In 2005 she had her first published children's book series with Simon and Schuster Pepper the Dog She went on to publish Santa's Hat with Scholastic and followed up with a lift -the-flap series What's in My Train and What's in My Truck . She has also illustrated for other author's including The Moon Shines Down by Margaret Wise Brown and The City Kid and The Suburb Kid by Deb Pilutti. Her Childremn's Treasury series for Sterling was a best seller. They included six books that illustrated classic tales , songs, prayers, rhymes, and lullabies. In 2019 Linda began creating products for Eeboo.com, a boutique toy company located in NYC. Her work specifically is tageted for educational purposes. She has created over 20 puzzles to date. Currently she is redesigning game packaging with a fresh new and bold presence. Today she lives in Wisconsin, just outside of Milwaukee, with her husband and pup Louie. Her two children have flown the nest to emabark on their own creative careers as writers and engineers. Thank you for listening to my story.
